In Italy the compulsory equipment to carry in the car includes:

• Approved warning triangle
• High visibility vest or approved reflecting high visibility braces.

The warning triangle should be positioned on the carriageway in case of car failure with poor visibility or in case of car failure with good visibility but the car is not visible in the distance being behind a curve, a hump etc.

It is obligatory to carry the high visibility vest before getting out of the car or in case of poor visibility.
